Abagana Archdeaconry

History

The Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim inaugurated the Archdeaconry at Saint John’s Anglican Church, Abagana.
before he inaugurated the new Archdeaconry, Most Reverend Ibezim requested for the history of the deeds to educate the church on the journey of the day’s event which was read by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Sir I. G. Okeke represented by the Registrar, Barrister Chris Adimorah.
Abagana West Archdeaconry is made up of four parishes which are St John’s Parish, Abagana, Saint Paul’s Parish, Nimo, Saint Michael and All Angels Parish, Abagana and Saint Barnabas Parish, Nimo.
Inaugurating the Archdeaconry, Archbishop Ibezim reminded Christians that there will be harvest time during which Christ will select his children and reward them for a work well done.
Most Reverend Ibezim charged them to live a life that would always glorify God so that they will be among the saints on the last day.
He pointed out the need for communities and individuals to accept the gospel for their own good as he said that any area or individual that rejects the gospel of Christ never prospers.
Speaking to the ABS, the Archdeacon of Abagana West Archdeaconry, Venerable Jason Onyeakagbusi, thanked God for the elevation, noting that theirs is to win more souls for God through evangelism.
The wife of the Archbishop Mrs Marta Ibezim and member representing Dunukofia constituency at Anambra state House of Assembly, Honourable Lawrence Ezeudu, were present at the event while special ministration by the choir featured at the event.
